Ragtime Choreographer Ellenore Scott and Writer Trey Everett Get Married at Classic Stage Company

Broadway choreographer Ellenore Scott and playwright Trey Everett were married at Off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company June 29.

Scott's credits include Funny Girl, Mr. Saturday Night, and the upcoming Broadway revival of Ragtime. Everett is a musician and writer, who sings under the moniker ladyortiger; his novels include Beneath the Surface and For It Will Be Yours, and his plays include By the End of Tonight and Miraculous.

The couple have been together since 2023. Scott says that CSC is a special venue for the two because back in 2023, Scott had torn her ACL. Days after her surgery, she began work on the Off-Broadway revival of I Can Get It For You Wholesale at CSC.

"Every day, Trey would help me from my apartment on the Upper West Side to the theatre. I’d sit inside the Lynn F. Angelson Theater working on the show, while Trey would sit inside Everyman Espresso, the lobby, writing, ready to help me home when rehearsal wrapped," she tells Playbill.

At the wedding, the couple read their vows on the stage of CSC. The reception was also held on that stage and the lobby. Though Scott admits their wedding was "nontraditional," it was perfect for the artistic couple.

Says Scott: "When we decided on a non-traditional wedding, CSC immediately felt like the perfect venue. When we reached out, John Nehlich, CSC’s facilities manager, told us they’d never hosted a wedding there before, but that they would be excited to be our venue. We held the ceremony and reception on the stage itself, transforming the theatre into a celebration space, and had New York style pizza and our open bar in the lobby. John even mentioned that CSC now plans to update their rental offerings to include weddings, thanks to how much fun ours was!"

The two are also expecting a baby boy, who is due a week after Scott opens Ragtime on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Says Scott: "2025 has become a big year for us."
