Playbill Celebrates Broadway's July Birthdays

Wave a grand old flag for our July birthdays!

Sparkling this month are the performers, directors, playwrights, and other theatre artists who celebrate their birthdays in bursts of fireworks. July is a dandy month to commemorate all the Yankee Doodles who have unfurled their talents on Broadway. We're making sure all the world hears us sing "Happy Birthday!" We'll be feeling all kinds of "Sparklejollytwinklejingley" on July 2 as we celebrate Grey Henson's (Elf) birthday.

"Everything's Coming Up Roses" on July 3 for six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald (Gypsy) and Broadway's original Grizabella Betty Buckley (Sunset Boulevard).

We're counting The Minutes to Tracy Letts' (August: Osage County) July 4 birthday.

"The Stars" will shine for Christopher Ashley (Come From Away) on his July 6 birthday.

"Everybody" will be coming out to wish Hamish Linklater (Ghosts) and Paulo Szot (& Juliet) a happy birthday on July 7.

Everyone will be waiting for Billy Crudup (also Ghosts) to show up to his July 8 celebration.

It's a quadruple-threat birthday on July 9 with Tom Hanks (of the upcoming This World of Tomorrow), Brian Dennehy (Love Letters), Jeremy Pope ( Ain't Too Proud), and Brandon Uranowitz (the upcoming Ragtime revival) all celebrating.

We've got our ticket to the masquerade for Will Brill (Stereophonic) on his July 11 birthday.

Don't nobody bring Deborah Cox (The Wiz) bad news while she's celebrating her July 13 birthday.

It will be loverly to celebrate Laura Benanti (who's bringing her show Nobody Cares to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Topdog / Underdog), and Scott Foley (The Thanksgiving Play) on July 15.

We'll be crying salty teardrops of joy on July 16 as Tony Kushner (Angels in America) celebrates his birthday.

We're ain't too proud to wish Ephraim Sykes (Ain't Too Proud) a happy birthday on July 17.

Let's all be fellows of infinite jest in celebration of Elizabeth McGovern's (of the upcoming AVA: The Secret Conversations at New York City Center) July 18 birthday.
