A host of Broadway favorites—including several 2025 Tony nominees—were part of Broadway Bets, the Texas Hold ’em-style poker tournament benefiting Broadway Cares, that returned to Sardi's restaurant May 19.
The annual evening raised a record-breaking $546,500 for the fundraising organization. Check out photos from the event in the gallery below.
“Broadway Bets is a magical night—there’s a palpable energy that fills Sardi’s as folks from across the industry come together,” Broadway Cares Executive Director Danny Whitman said in a statement. “I’m grateful to the Broadway community, who showed up in the spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie. They went all-in to make a real difference in providing meals, medication, health care, and hope with every full house, straight or flush.”
Among the stage and screen stars in attendance were Hank Azaria, Kelli Barrett, John Behlmann, Laura Bell Bundy, Kerry Butler, Lea DeLaria, Glenn Davis, Nihar Duvvuri, Tom Francis, Andy Frankenberger, Drew Gehling, Richard Kind, Dan Lauria, Kenny Leon, Tony Macht, Wendie Malick, Julian Manjerico, Julia Mattison, Nancy McKeon, Mike Myers, Noah Pacht, Sam Pinkleton, Jarrod Spector, Hannah Solow, Alex Timbers, Alfred Uhry, Victoria Vourkoutiotis, Steven Weber, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and David Yazbek as well as poker pro Erik Seidel.
Texas Hold ’em-style tournaments begin with each player receiving an
equal amount of chips. Two blinds are posted per hand to force the
action, and as players progress, the number of blind bets increases. As
players drop out, tables are combined until one final table of players
competes for the title.
The evening, which started with 37 Texas Hold ’em poker tables and 363 tournament players and onlookers, culminated in 10 players donning their best poker faces at the championship table. The final face-off featured Jeffrey Korn, a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher law firm, and Audrey Federici, an actor and opera singer. Korn bested Federici with a pair of deuces.
The final table also featured, in order of finish: Tom Callahan, senior vice president at Serino Coyne; Alex Donnelly, vice president and general manager at PRG; Marc Levine, Glengarry Glen Ross and Smash producer; Erich Bussing, assistant managing director at Greenrock Corporation; Andrew Lowry, director of ticketing at SpotCo; Paul D’Antonio, vice president of security at The Shubert Organization; Ingrid Weber, poker dealer and former Broadway costume designer; and Yang-Yang Chen, director of strategy and culture at 321 Theatrical Management.
The tournament directors were Mark Shacket, partner at Foresight Theatrical; Brett Sirota, co-founder and partner at The Road Company; and Alex Wolfe, general manager at Foresight Theatrical.
Broadway Bets’ founding co-chairs are Paul Libin, executive vice president emeritus of Jujamcyn Theaters and president emeritus of the Broadway Cares Board of Trustees; and Robert E. Wankel, chairman and CEO of The Shubert Organization and president of the Broadway Cares Board of Trustees.
Across its eight editions, Broadway Bets has raised nearly $2.8 million for Broadway Cares, one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.
